Wellness Court is notable because it reflects joint jurisdiction and tribal-state coordination in a county where Leech Lake Reservation geography matters. Participants commit to a minimum 18 to 24 months in an intensive supervisory program. Cass County Courthouse History

The current Cass County Courthouse has a long public-record role in Walker. The Minnesota Judicial Branch courthouse history says construction began in 1902, the original building cost $29,500, and the design used red brick with lighter stone trim. The architecture is described as Italian Renaissance or Beaux-Arts academic. A 1961 project added a top floor and changed the original roof, dome, cornice, lantern, windows, and interior atrium.

That history sits alongside newer statewide court technology. Cass County now uses Minnesota's MCRO and eFile and eServe systems rather than a standalone local case search database. Court Administration still handles the local counter function, certified copy work, and public calendar questions.
